The disciple John often referred to himself as the “disciple whom Jesus loved” (John 13:23, John 19:26, John 20:2, John 21:7, John 21:20) because he knew the love of God personally. It was John who wrote the most quoted verses in the Gospels concerning God’s love: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16) “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1 John 8) Paul also wrote extensively about God’s love, including the well-known chapter (1 Corinthians 13) on the “greatest gift” we have received from God, where he declared that if he does not have love “I am nothing.” What kind of love is this? What is required to experience this kind of love? To truly grasp God's love for us, we must understand the essence of Christ’s nature. The disciples and the early Christians knew God’s divine love intimately. This was the fire that ignited the Christian faith. The Good News is that God loves us infinitely! A Journey Toward Perfection is a comprehensive study of the attributes recorded in the Beatitudes of Matthew 5, the attributes God bestowed upon us when He created us in His image. He created us to love. These are the traits necessary to experience the love of God and crucial in learning how to love others as God loves us. These characteristics are central to our Christian spiritual growth. Learn how to cultivate an intimate experiential relationship with God, how to communicate with Him in a two-way dialogue, not only speaking to God, but also being attuned to His voice. Discover how these attributes can sustain you through the many trials and tribulations of your life. Comprehend how love truly conquers all. Experience God’s true presence in your life. Jesus called the lost, the oppressed and the broken-hearted. He called the sick, the forgotten, and the sinners. Christ called you to enter into His love. He encouraged us to take A Journey Toward Perfection, toward a loving God who extends His open arms to us even as Christ’s arms were extended on the cross. He gave us a road map to follow through the Beatitudes. By following this path toward Christ, God is revealed to us in an unprecedented way and becomes a beacon in our lives. Two thousand years ago, a fire humbly and meekly exploded into our reality, which changed the world. That fire was Christ. Take the Journey Toward Perfection and be transformed. By knowing the love of God, you will undergo a metamorphosis. You will become the butterfly that God always meant for you to be.

Yom Kippur... the holiest day on Israel's calendar. In Scripture, it is a day of sacrifice; in Judaism, renunciation. But the Day of Atonement is meant to be far more profound--far more excruciating--than any mere traditional observance or ceremony. Rather, it is a day of humility, affliction and death--a day of disowning, separation and abandonment... of ourselves. In an impassioned, piercing exhortation, Messianic Jewish author and teacher Kevin Geoffrey presents the Scriptural mandate for both the holiest day of the year and the daily life for Messiah's disciples: deny yourself. Taken to heart, this message will not only change the way you view Yom Kippur, but will radically alter the course of your life. Read this challenging word at the risk of completely losing yourself--and then gaining your life anew in Yeshua!

"Self-denial is one of the fundamental principles of the Christian life. It is Christianity 101," writes author Ryan McGraw. Christians, regardless of personal cost, must believe and do whatever Christ teaches them and reject and flee from whatever He forbids them. McGraw helps readers develop an understanding of this essential principle of Christian living by providing an in-depth explanation of what self-denial is and why it is important, and then giving examples of what it looks like in practice. Author RYAN M. MCGRAW is pastor of First Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Sunnyvale, California; research associate, University of the Free State; and adjunct professor of systematic theology, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Endorsement "'Deny yourself.' This is one of the hardest biblical commands for Christians to implement practically. Our selfish sinful nature wants and wants even more. Ryan McGraw's pamphlet is a powerful call to the twenty-first-century church to be more like Jesus and less like the world; to be transformed by the Spirit rather than conformed to the world. We need this exhortation today, and I'm glad to commend this pamphlet for issuing that call." Daniel R. Hyde, pastor, Oceanside United Reformed Church, Carlsbad, California

A year 2000 Finalist in the ECPA book competition! We grow in Christ as we seek him together. Jesus' own pattern of disciple-making was to be intimately involved with others and allow life to rub against life. By gathering in twos or threes to study the Bible and encourage one another, we most closely follow Jesus' example with the twelve disciples. This workbook is a tool designed to help you follow the pattern Jesus drew for us. Working through it will deepen your knowledge of essential Christian teaching and strengthen your faith. Divided into weekly sessions Discipleship Essentials is ideal for groups of three or four. It has also been used successfully as an individual study program, as a one-to-one discipling tool and as small group curriculum. Each week you will discover: a core truth presented in question/answer format a memory verse and application study a field-tested inductive Bible study a reading on the theme for the week questions to draw out key principles from the reading Jesus had a big enough vision to think small. Focusing on a few did not limit his influence. Rather, it expanded it! Discipleship Essentials will help you influence others as Jesus did—by investing wholeheartedly in a few.

How well do you know Jesus? I think about this often, and I always come to the same realization. I don’t know Jesus anywhere near as well as I would like to know him. The desire is there, but life gets in the way. There are times when I seem to be making great progress, and other times when I wonder if I know him at all. But I always arrive back at the same inspiring and haunting idea: If there is one person that we should each get to know in a deeply personal way, it is Jesus – the carpenter from Nazareth, the itinerant preacher, the Son of God, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Lamb of God, the new Adam, the Messiah, the Alpha and the Omega, the Chosen One, the Light of the World, the God-Man who wants good things for us more than we want them for ourselves, the healer of our souls.

For readers who loved Do You Think I’m Beautiful? Angela Thomas’s new book explores a woman’s need to be known and loved—just as she is. In her book Do You Know Who I Am? Angela Thomas asks God if He knows her—and ultimately does He love her—as she is, right now, today. In each chapter, she names a different identity issue, such as: “I am invisible,” “I am worn out,” “I am undisciplined,” “I am ordinary,” and “I am afraid to dream.” With each honest admission, Angela teaches that God lovingly replies, “Yes, I know your heart. I see your struggle. Now…do you know who I AM?” Ultimately Angela reveals that the secret to being known and loved lies in an intimate understanding of who God is. Each identity struggle is answered with a short biblical study on the character of God that assures readers that their personal, spiritual, and eternal fulfillment is not dependent on getting themselves together. Rather, God has a purpose for them just as they are—broken, afraid, disappointed, disillusioned. Through vivid storytelling, biblical teaching, and practical application, readers will find the heartfelt answers they seek.

When Andrew first met Jesus, he ran home to bring his brother Simon to see him. Philip called Nathaneal, and the Samaritan woman invited the men of her town to come and see. These people were not content with a mere look — they were so excited they wanted others to see Jesus also. As a follower of Jesus, are you satisfied with just seeing him in the pages of scripture, or are you so captivated that you want others to see him also? Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve had a good look at your Master. If so, the first part of this book, A Gospel Travelogue, will help you see Jesus with fresh eyes, and encourage you to keep looking on your own. Coming to Jesus is easy. People have been doing so ever since he walked the earth. But the call to follow Jesus is much more difficult. The second part, What It Means To Follow Jesus, explains what Jesus meant when he said, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” As you follow Jesus, you realize he wants us to see with his eyes. Look, Pray, Go is about the need to see people the way Jesus sees them. Only in this way will we have his love and compassion when serving others. The last part, Discipleship - Then and Now, compares the way we train disciples today with the way Jesus and his apostles trained disciples. There is much we can learn from the New Testament model.

The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, is the foundation of our faith. It is God-breathed. It gives us the full knowledge of Him and of His Son. “This is the eternal life, that they should know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). God’s word gives us eternal life through faith in Christ Jesus. It makes us men and women of God. It is most profitable for our spiritual life, for it teaches us, convicts us, corrects us, and instructs us in righteousness. Thus, we are made complete and fully equipped to do God’s will. We are exhorted by our Lord himself to search the Scriptures for in them is the witness concerning Him (see John 5:37). A special blessing is given by God to those who read, hear and keep His word (see Revelation 1:3). The New Testament is composed of twenty-seven books. Each of these twenty-seven books reveals Christ to us in a special aspect of His fullness. Thus, we are able to know Christ in His fullness. In this volume, each book in the New Testament is briefly discussed, with special attention to seeing Christ in His fullness. It is not an exhaustive study, its purpose simply being to offer a taste of the sweet word of God so as to induce us to search His word more diligently. May He draw us deeper into His word so that we may be drawn deeper into Him.

Yes, you do want to be closer to God. You want the love of God and you want to show God that you love him. And, praise God, you can be as close to him as you want to be , for James 4:8 says, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” The Word of God, the Bible, shows you exactly how to do this. This book, Imperativity, simply condenses the verses that pertain to this subject and brings them to light. A Bible verse that expecially brings this to light is Revelation 22:14, which says, “Blessed are they that do his commandments...” The definition for New Testament Biblical Imperativity is found in the following verses: I John 2:3-6 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, ‘I know him’, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
